APG is currently seeking an experienced Reconciliation Assessor for a 6 Month contract within a Newcastle Government Sector.

Primary purpose of the role

  • Work with electronic documentation
  • Learn and use contractors' software platforms for data retrieval and interrogation (Aconex)
  • Have a basic understanding of the demolition process
  • Have a basic understanding of how site constraints can influence demolition strategies
  • Have a basic understanding of plant hire cost, time required to undertake excavation tasks
  • Have a basic understanding of how asbestos contaminated materials are handled based on the extent of contamination
  • Have a basic understanding of logistics of transportation of debris, including traffic management
  • Experience working in the building & construction industry and/or project management environment (highly desirable but not essential)
  • Role will be high volume reconciliation of contractor claim, including investigation and follow up of discrepancies.

Duties include but are not limited:

  • Download information from contractor's database
  • Interpret/interrogate documented scope of work in relation to the actual work items claimed. What is required to be done, should this work have been done.
  • Make comparisons analysis on invoice data for trends or error identification, to resolve if price is reasonable
  • Review PWA site audit information for comparison to contractor's actual claim
  • Query anomalies in claim with contractor and either have contractor reissue claim or satisfactorily justify claim
  • From actions above, determine if the claim is reasonable for the works undertaken and recommend payment
  • Update database from reconciled/agreed pricing

Essential Criteria

  • Government experience is highly desirable
  • Will be assisting with the Flood Recovery Program in Northern Rivers area
  • Must have outstanding Microsoft skills
  • Training will be provided on internal systems
  • Accounts experience including reconciliation
  • Investigation of discrepancies including follow up and close out of queries
  • Experience with high volume data processing
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Selfmotivated
