Established in 1952, ACH Group is a large not for profit organisation with an annual turnover in excess of $130m, supporting the lives of older people to live well while they age, the business employs around 1800 people and offers a wide range of integrated care and accommodation options to their customers including health and wellbeing, residential care, retirement living and general assistance for carers.


About the person:


Reporting to the CFO, this newly created role is responsible for providing effective and efficient management of a range of major contracts, market engagement, tender management, ongoing development of strategic business improvements and delivering innovative commercial and procurement solutions to ACH Group, optimal business outcomes, best practice and commercial opportunities.


The role will be responsible for designing and implementing strategic procurement solutions for a range of significant CAPEX and OPEX head categories across the business ~ $50-60m pa.


Some of the key responsibilities of this role:

  • Build, lead and develop a professional procurement team that works collaboratively toward achieving the organisation's goals
  • Design and implement efficient procurement processes, systems and solutions to ensure the timely, cost effective and accurate completion of processes
  • Identify and analyse business and commercial opportunities and drivers including current/emerging issues and provide key insights, recommendations, initiatives, strategies and actions to all key stakeholders
  • Design and oversee the 'procurementtopay' process across the business, delivering value for money outcomes with improved back of house functions
  • Research and recommend contracts, suppliers, equipment, regulations, etc. and evaluate new products to determine service need/availability
  • Develop key relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders as required to attain information and feedback and to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Identifying and raising potential process improvements, inline with a Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CII) approach
  • Engaging in audit processes, and/or research and development projects as directed
  • Responsible for management administration and documentation related contract compliance, budgets, reports for Management, incidents and/or accident reports, and other records and reports in relation to staff.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Experience in leading change management, coaching and motivating a team
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and facilitate group conversations, negotiate, conflict management
  • Strong leadership and management experience
  • Experience leading and managing the effective delivery of cost effective procurement and contract management functions in a complex business environment
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance / audits requirements are met
  • A satisfactory National Criminal History Record Check that complies with Business Policy no older than 12 months at commencement of employment.
  • Hold a current drivers licence, that complies with Australian licencing laws and regulations
  • Up to date vaccinations, as per Australian Government Guidelines, including but not limited to Influenza and COVID19.
Based in any ACH Group location. This position will be required to travel frequently within South Australia and may be required to travel interstate.
