About the position

We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics to deliver planned and breakdown maintenance across a large fleet of heavy mobile equipment. This role offers a great opportunity for passionate tradespeople looking for a long-term mining career. Applicants must reside in Western Australia or be willing to relocate permanently. Rio Tinto provides Fly in Fly out options from Perth and regional FIFO hubs like Albany, Geraldton, Busselton, Broome, and Derby.

  • Maintain a strong safety focus and adhere to all RTIO Company Policies
  • Perform routine inspections on the digger fleet and initiate repair actions as needed
  • Actively contribute to safety and cost reduction projects through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Use SAP for accurate recording, assignment, and completion of maintenance tasks

Your qualifications

  • Dedication to team and personal safety
  • Trade certification as a Heavy Duty Fitter or Plant Mechanic
  • Proven experience in servicing Heavy Mobile Mining Equipment
  • A valid Australian manual driver's license
  • Eligibility to work in Australia without visa sponsorship
