About the Role

  • We support people with disabilities, and people living with a mental illness. EmpowerU Support Teams focussed on coproduction, supporting people to make decisions about their life and support.

The support you provide might include:

  • Helping the person develop skills
  • for example, making a budget, taking public transport, using assistive technology, or preparing meals
  • Assisting the person to participate in social outings, recreational activities and community events
  • Providing companionship, conversation and emotional support.
  • Assisting with transport to attend appointments

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow personcentred support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
  • Participate in community activities and encourage clients to perform daily living tasks
  • Track and maintain records of client progress
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with our clients and their families
  • Provide inhome support and domestic assistance

About you

  • Patient, flexible and understanding
  • Supportive and caring nature
  • Commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives
  • Able to accept responsibility and are able to work in a team.
  • Good communication skills

Skills & Experience

  • An unrestricted New South Wales driver's license
  • Minimum 2 years' experience of previous psychosocial disability support
  • Working within the community and Mental Health environment experience is required
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with children check

$ $47.00 per hour
