Mount Hospital are seeking CSSD Instrument Technicians for multiple positions within the hospital with permanent full-time, part-time and casual hours available.

As the CSSD Instrument Technician your responsibilities will include:

  • Thermal disinfection inspection, packaging and sterilising of all instrumentation for theatre and other clinical areas
  • Comply with AS/NZ standards , GENCA
  • Operate, interpret and document all machinery operational requirements
  • Report and document all quality activities
  • Ensure priority of instrumentation and processes

Selection Criteria:

  • Certificate III in Sterilising Services with at least 12 months' practical experience
  • Genca Certification for processing flexible endoscopes desirable or willing to complete
  • Sound understanding of the requirements of AS/NZS 4187 and the referenced Australian and international standards for processing reusable medical devices in health service organisations
  • Good infection prevention and control practices and a clear understanding and able to demonstrate the principles of standard precautions including hand hygiene in daily routine practice
  • Competent in all aspects of processing reusable medical devices safely and effectively
  • Committed to maintaining currency in practical skills and knowledge
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Able to prioritise, plan and take the initiative to respond to changes
