Research and Collections Officer

We are looking for a Research and Collections Officer to join our team to undertake and deliver research services using archival records.
This front-facing role will work across QSA and with external customers, including the public and government agencies, contributing to QSA's First Nations First Program and supporting the Queensland Government's Path to Treaty and the Truth-telling and Healing Inquiry.
You will work collaboratively as part of a team and engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
- undertake complex and sensitive research using QSA's archival management system, including the identification of First Nations records- establish and maintain positive relationships, and work collaboratively with other QSA staff and external stakeholders, including First Nations peoples and communities, and government agencies - support QSA's First Nations First work program through the development of procedures and practices to support culturally safe access to records by First Nations peoples and communities in line with best practice and enhancing organisational cultural capabilities - provide advice and recommendations on accessing First Nations records within the collection
- analyse and collate research reports for internal and external audiences - contribute to publications and resources to support the discovery of, and access to, First Nations records
- participate in working groups and special interest groups as required - train and provide guidance to QSA staff to support research services
- maintain detailed and accurate documentation and reporting of research activities
This position is designated as identified.
