About the Role:


Teach into the suite of Education degrees (Bachelor of Education, Early Years and Primary, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Associate Degree of Early Years) within the department of Arts, Education and Agritech.

This is a casual position with teaching and teaching-related duties accounting for the majority of the time. Collaborate with academic staff to support and maintain a high quality student learning experience for domestic and international students.

Duties:

  • To deliver the curriculum effectively through a variety of different learning strategies and platforms including online.
  • To develop and maintain the online Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS platform at Melbourne Polytechnic is referred to as Moodle.
  • To ensure that all assessments are fairly marked and graded and that there is consistency between grading.
  • Provide students with appropriate tutorial support and advice in accordance with program requirements

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A Master's degree, or PhD in a field relevant to the degree program.
  • A record of academic excellence, evidenced by previous experience in teaching at a tertiary level in the discipline represented.
  • Experience of teaching and developing course materials, especially as related to online, flexible and blended learning environments.
  • Significant relevant professional and industry experience in early years or primary education in the Australian context.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to liaise well with other academics and industry partners.
  • Formal teaching qualification as recognized by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
