Join our team in Pakenham, where we're dedicated to creating a thriving community. We're looking for an Arboricultural Officer to join us on a casual basis for an exciting opportunity to make a difference.

Responsibilities & Skills:

As an Arboricultural Officer, you'll be responsible for:

Resolving conflicts and problems in face-to-face and telephone interactions with the community. Assisting in developing maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures for vegetation management, ensuring compliance with service levels. Managing external contractors, keeping the Team Leader – Arboriculture informed of work progress and processing payments. Facilitating on-site issue resolution and authorizing corrective strategies as needed. Ensuring arboricultural programs align with Council's budget and specifications, and assisting in resident and contractor notifications and consultations. Providing specialist advice and reports on Council tree matters to stakeholders. Contributing to data collection for vegetation management programs and sustainable target objectives. Evaluating non-routine customer requests related to street/reserve trees and providing detailed recommendations. Assisting in budget preparation and contract review/development for tree management. Staying updated on developments and legislation changes in tree maintenance. Responding during and after extreme weather events, coordinating contractors and applying for Natural Disaster Financial Assistance.

Skills Required:
