We currently have an exciting opportunity for multiple Meter Data Analyst located at the Forrestfield Depot & soon to be relocated at a brand-new facility in Forrestdale on a 24-month maximum term basis.


About this role


In December 2019, the State Government approved the commencement of settlement for contestable loads and generators using five‐minute interval metering data, with the new arrangements to commence on 1 October 2025.The introduction of five‐minute settlement (5MS) is part of a suite of changes to the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) planned under the Energy Transformation Strategy.

These changes are intended to facilitate the energy transformation at the same time as maintaining power system security and reliability at the lowest sustainable cost.


This position is responsible for the accurate, online processing within Western Power's metering systems to meet Western Australian electricity Market obligations that commences on 1 Oct 2025.


Duties such as:

  • To establish meter exchange and meter configurations on complex metering systems
  • Process & performing complex analysis of meter reading data
  • Successfully loading of readings, and handling of reading exceptions
  • Receiving fieldbased calls for the testing of meter communication via metering systems
  • Accurate, timely collection, validation and publication of meter data to meet:
  • Western Australian electricity Market regulatory obligations,
  • Western Power policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of revenue generated from interval reads through various complex metering systems.
  • To maintain and update the accuracy of standing data in accordance with the Metering Code
  • To understand and ensure various regulated Metering and Metrology techniques are carried out, using such Metrology to ensure compliance is maintained.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting complex processes and by working with cross functional areas to achieve success.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service to ensure customer experience is of quality with the provision of accurate and timely information.
