About Us


The NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) supports the development of profitable primary industries that create a more prosperous NSW and contributes to a better environment through the sustainable use of natural resources.


Within NSW DPI, Agriculture (DPI Ag) leads, amongst other activities, the National Varroa T2M Program, which oversees a transition from the eradication of Varroa destructor (Varroa mite) to management as Varroa naturalises.

The program includes objectives to build European Honeybee, and reliant, industries' resilience and capacity, slow Varroa's spread and support business continuity.


About the Role
National Varroa Pollination Industry Coordinator


The Coordinator will support pollination-reliant industries in understanding and managing Varroa mite impacts, including the decline of wild European honeybee populations as well as supporting the development of relationships between pollination reliant industries and pollination service providers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with industries to develop and deliver educational content on Varroa mite impacts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Horticultural Industry Development Officers (IDOs).
  • Create and share content across industries to meet needs.
  • Lead the creation and distribution of a pollinationdependent industry guide.
  • Identify and address education opportunities regarding Varroa mite.
  • Provide detailed reports to inform decisionmaking.

Essential Requirements

  • Current NSW Class C Driver's License.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

About You

  • Strong experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Detailed knowledge of pollinationreliant industries.
