The role

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, this new position, based in Mareeba, is responsible for supervising a team of electrical and mechanical tradespersons and contractors in the carrying out of routine, electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks on a range water storage and delivery infrastructure assets.

You will effectively supervise the team to ensure work is delivered to a high standard and in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements, Electrical Safety Act and Sunwaters policies and procedures.


Other key responsibilities include:


Coordinate and manage daily and weekly activities for contractors and team members performing electrical and mechanical work and support the coordinator with Planning and Scheduling activities.

Support the Maintenance Coordinator in the management of electrical and mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure whole of life asset performance, regulatory safety compliance and efficient use of resources.

Undertake routine electrical and mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting tasks to restore pumping systems, valves, control, communication and instrumentation and other equipment associated with the operation of pipelines and bulk water storages.

Perform the duties of a high voltage switching operator and perform isolations.
Act as isolation officer and permit holder for high voltage and permit to work activities.

Support the Electrical Coordinator to ensure all electrical drawings and single line diagrams for are up to date and available.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Supervisor with previous leadership experience and the ability to motivate team members to achieve performance objectives.

You will be able to manage a demanding workload, work in a changing environment, have a collaborative approach and be flexible and confident.

You will have well developed computer, diagnostic, analytical, technical and communication skills and be proficient in the use of asset management and scheduling programs.

Ie.
SAP and Viziya.

In addition, you will have:
Queensland Electrical Work Licence for a Mechanic or Mechanical trade qualification
High Voltage Switching Operators Accreditation (desirable or have the ability to obtain)
Certificate 4 in Electrical Instrumentation (highly desirable)
Queensland manual driver's licence
Confined space and working at heights (or ability to obtain)
Senior First Aid Certificate
Proven welding and fabrication skills relating to stainless steel and aluminium materials
