About the role
This is a full-time permanent opportunity.
In this role you will develop studies, support business case development, progress opportunities through project gates and hand over to execution with the overall goal of increasing the present value of the business.
Key accountabilities -
- Adherence to South32 values and safety requirements.
- Manage and compile front end loading requirements (study deliverables) for assigned projects through working with both external and internal technical and project professionals.
- Ensure compliance of study deliverables to South32 Projects and Capital standards.
- Work with assurance team in improving compliance and accuracy of documentation for tollgating of projects to secure capital funds.
- Work with project sponsors and other stakeholders in identifying and scoping projects' requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders in providing updates for projects.
- Ensure accuracy of forecasts and any other project information in reporting platforms.
- Support execution teams in delivering projects as necessary
About you
To be considered for the role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics) (Essential)
- Significant project and capital Management experience in heavy industry (Essential)
- Operational projects experience in an underground environment (preferred)
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence across various levels of the business.
- Experience and knowledge in material handling systems and fluid machinery. (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multifunctional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to select, develop, coach and mentor employees resulting in improved engagement, diversity and organisational capability.
Location
This position will be based at the Regional Operations Centre, Port Kembla Coal Terminal in Wollongong, NSW.
