THE DEPARTMENT
Alfred Health People and Culture is responsible for the overall delivery of numerous Human Resources related services to the organisation.
People and Culture incorporates HR Services and Employee Experience, Organisational Development, Patient Experience and Consumer Engagement and Innovation and Learning.
HR Services and Employee Experience is the operational component of People and Culture, providing a services such as policy and guideline development, legislative compliance in relation to industrial agreements, performance management advice, end-to-end attraction of talent and recruitment services, retention initiatives, HR data and analytics, OH&S and general HR advice to employees and managers alike.
We do this through various teams including Employee Relations, Recruitment, HRIS, OH&S and HR Business Partnering services.Our work spans the three main sites of Alfred Health - The Alfred, Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital plus various regional services.

THE ROLE:
Join our Employee Relations team to provide contemporary, innovative and accurate advice and support to managers and staff on a wide range of operational and strategic employee relations matters.
Based at The Alfred in Melbourne (occasional travel may be required to Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital), you will be involved in working with our leaders in designing, advising and implementing solutions for managers and staff on a wide range of issues including the implementation, interpretation and maintenance of enterprise agreements and other employment conditions, workplace change and performance improvement.
You will be collaborative, fair and customer orientated, with a desire to work closely with stakeholders.
The successful person will always demonstrate integrity, fairness, sound judgment and excellent negotiation skills, as well as being able to build positive relationships.
Your ER experience will have been in fast-changing and complex public and/or private organisations. Previous experience in health is desirable.ABOUT YOU:
- You want to be part of an organisation that works together to improve the health of people.
- You have outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to work with directors and a range of other leaders and professionals with responsiveness and a customer focus. You have experience in the management of employee relation issues, which may include supporting and coaching HRBP's regarding same.
- You have the ability to analyse a situation, and to then formulate, communicate, execute and support on measures to address the issue. Your enterprise agreement interpretation skills are sharp and you know how to work within the Australian industrial relations framework. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work within a team are a must.
- Your experience in working in a complex and fast paced environment, which may possibly include public health, will be highly regarded as will be your relevant tertiary qualifications in either Industrial Relations/Human Resources Management or Law.
