About the Role:


An opportunity has become available for an experienced
Tester In Charge to join the WA Rail team in our Perth office.

Frequent site travel is required in this role.

Responsibilities of the role include (but are by no means limited to);:

  • Functional Testing and commissioning of signalling equipment, including track equipment (point machines, DED's), location cases and SER's.
  • Functional testing and commissioning of level crossings
  • Interlocking software updates
  • Development of Test and Commissioning plans, work packs, test certificates, work instructions and associated documentation for the work package.
  • Assign tasks to testing personnel and manage the day to day requirements of the testing teams
  • Direct testing and commissioning activities, ensuring all testing and certification has been undertaken to the correct specifications.
  • Responsible for offering testing evidence for the work package and ensuring all documentation protocols are followed.
  • Site Mobilisation and Demobilisation
  • Supervise testing teams to ensure targets are met in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ensure all signal testing including IWP interlocking, Electrocode tracks, M23A points machines and XP4 Level Crossing meets the design, manufacturer and client specifications
  • Ensure Installation and implementation of signalling schemes are carried out in a safe and timely manner

To be successful in this key role, you must have;:

  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience
  • An advanced understanding of the MS Office suite of products (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • The ability and willingness to learn new software packages
  • The ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of personnel (managers, supervisors, Technicians)
  • The ability to work autonomously
