About the role:

The MTM Infrastructure Division currently has two vacancies for TFPC 3.3 Safeworking Coordinators, who will be responsible for the implementation of worksite protection during Absolute Occupations on the Metro Trains Rail Network.

The core function of this role is to ensure that all workers remain safe from rail traffic at all times, that all rail safety risks are appropriately managed, and to ensure that all Infrastructure EWNO's are implemented according to approved protection plans.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have great communication skills, be an expert at multitasking, thrive when working under pressure, and also have strong governance and reporting practices.

Please note:
It is essential to hold a TFPC 3.3 qualification to be considered for this role

These positions work on the EWNO roster of Sun - Wed, 18:30pm - 4:30am.

Main duties:

• Minimise the operational performance impacts where possible.
• Produce and provide regular reports to the Shut Down Managers on all aspects of work in progress, planned or completed throughout the duration of the Absolute Occupation.
• Immediately notify the Shut Down Manager, Safety Coordinator, Track Access Desk and Metrol/Controlling Signaller of any incidents or issues that occur.
• Attend major system failures when required to provide Safeworking to assist with the restoration of services and minimise the operational impact to the business.
• Operate reasonably independently in accordance with Metro's policies, quality, safety systems, processes and relevant legislation.
• Keep the Safeworking Supervisor fully informed regarding activities.
• Identify improvement initiatives for on track protection practices and make recommendations.

Qualifications, skills and experience:
Mandatory

• Track Force Protection Coordinator
• Unrestricted Safeworking Competency
• Knowledge of the 1994 Book of Rules & Operating Procedures (Revision 7)
• Sound knowledge of safeworking operations, practices and procedures undertaken across the Network
• Demonstrated ability to manage high volume of critical communications
• Victorian Drivers Licence

Preferred

• Experience in using Microsoft Office programs
• Permit to Work Near Holder (PTWN) (Desirable)
• First Aid Level 2 (Desirable)
• Knowledge of MTM Incident Management processes
• V/Line TFPC (Desirable)
• ARTC TA20 (Desirable)
