We have an exciting opportunity for 2 x Trainee Power Technicians (Secondary) to undertake an Advanced Diploma of ESI - Power Systems over a four-year program which will enable you to obtain industry skills and knowledge under the supervision of qualified and experienced professionals, while also attending TAFE to complete your certification.

These traineeships will be based at Rowville (x1) and Thomastown (x1).


During the program, you will be a valued member of our team and will experience a variety of work environments within the electricity supply industry which will enhance your skills and career development opportunities.


Key Responsibilities that you will observe and learn along the way include

  • Perform current injection testing of secondary devices
  • Maintain and calibrate protection relays and meters
  • Develop secondary protection and control scheme isolation and restoration documents
  • Conduct evaluation of network protection and control system faults
  • Commission and maintain voltage regulating equipment
  • Commission and maintain network protection and control systems

About You


This is an exciting time for our industry and we would love to be able to share this journey with someone who is committed and eager to learn.

When you complete the program successfully, you will have completed all competencies for an Advanced Diploma of ESI - Power Systems.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Strong mathematical and problem solving / analytical skills
  • A current drivers licence or have obtained a drivers licence by January 202
  • A good positive attitude and a willingness to work as a team will no doubt see you succeed in your new role
