GHD has rich expertise in delivering projects for clients through EPCM, EPC, Owner's Engineer and other delivery models in Western Australia and elsewhere.

This is complimented by our local team's strong pedigree in the end-to-end power system design which includes generation, transmission, distribution, renewables, battery energy storage, and hydrogen technology.


Strong growth within our Future Energy business has created an opportunity for an experienced
Electrical Designer to join a dynamic and professional team.


Working with a leading water infrastructure team, this position offers great variety of projects, and will see you involved in the:

  • Lead design role on substation primary design scope for Substation projects
  • QA of team members design and drafting work
  • Producing quality substation primary designs within schedule and budget
  • CAD conform
  • Producing high quality deliverables

What you will bring to the team:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with microstation drafting packages
  • Extensive experience in design and drafting of substations at 66 kV and above (experience with Substation civil and structural design advantageous)
  • Proficient knowledge of substation high voltage plant and equipment
  • Knowledge of AIS/GIS Substation busbar configuration and layouts
  • Competent knowledge of relevant Australian and International standards, industry guidelines and current industry practices
  • Experience with Western Power Substation Drafting standards Mentoring junior staff
