About the position:

As our Electrical Trainer for the Infrastructure division, you'll be a trusted advisor for the Electrical Networks team by reviewing, managing and delivering training to employees to ensure their capability and compliancy with internal and external regulations.

Your key focus will be to ensure that the delivery of training is accurate, relevant and engaging, as you uplift the whole group through a mix of office based and on-site work.

You'll have the opportunity to innovate and put your own stamp on our content, and so you'll need to be inherently approachable and consultative in your manner of work in order to set up the team for success.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage and undertake the delivery of training to Electrical Networks employees.
• Review, schedule and deliver training plans according to Electrical Networks training plans.
• Maintain oversight of class progress, performance, and competency, ensuring trainees are provided feedback through multiple channels including observations and progress reports.
• Respect trainee welfare, ensuring they are treated with substantive and procedural fairness.
• Participate in handover meetings when transferring trainees from theory to practical stage, and when verifying completion of training and the qualification.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements in the development, delivery, and assessment of training.
• Manage the implementation and reporting on all training/assessment processes and activities.
• Maintain standard practice manuals, prepare, and issue training handbooks, bulletins.
• Review and evaluate training initiatives for quality, accuracy and relevance.
• Participate in training initiatives, projects and development activities as requested

About you:

• Cert IV in Training & Assessment, or a willingness to upskill.
• Experience in Substations preferred, but not essential.
• Skilled in competencybased curriculum design, development, delivery and assessment of training packages to deliver organisational, legislative and regulatory obligations.
• Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with great relationship building skills.
• Approachable and an expert in stakeholder engagement at all levels of management and staff.
• Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Comfortable following WH&S and environmental procedures in the rail industry.
• Able to identify, design and facilitate learning programs and assessment strategies.
