The Role & The Team:

The Airspace Senior Safety Specialist will provide leadership, advice, and assurance to the Airspace Program in the application of the Airservices Safety Management System (SMS) and CASA Civil Aviation Safety Regulations Part 171, 172, as they apply to the systems and services being delivered under the Airspace Program. In particular, the Airspace Safety Specialist will assist the Airspace Program in ensuring its systems and their integration into the ATM Service capability is acceptably safe. You will form an integral part of the Airspace Program team – advising the Airspace Program Directors, Program Managers and Project Managers on safety issues; directing the Safety SMEs on the Airspace projects; and assuring the development of high-quality safety artefacts on Airspace projects to support the Airservices record of Safety, Environmental, WHS, Risk and Compliance excellence. The Person

The successful applicant will have:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in system safety or safety management are desirable.
  2. Sound understanding of complex Airspace environment.
  3. Demonstrated sound understanding and proven application of system safety on a large scale, complex project within a safety regulated industry.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of Safety Management Systems, combined with extensive practical application of the SMSs, particularly in application to change and software development programs, including safety case development.
  5. High-level analytical skills within an Airspace environment.
