It's an exciting time for tennis in Victoria and there are ambitious plans to further grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. Transformation is underway in how tennis is delivered, aiming to enhance accessibility for more people, more frequently. The team is seeking a Head of Play to join Tennis Victoria on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the role

As the Head of Play reporting to the CEO of Tennis Vic, you will lead and manage all activities and projects under the Play Pillar of the Tennis Victoria strategic plan. Ensuring a quality experience for all participants, from their initial engagement to State and National events, tournaments, and premier competitions, will be your responsibility. Leading a team of dedicated staff, you will oversee the delivery of programs and competitive play opportunities statewide.

  • Support the execution of the Tennis Victoria (TV) strategy.
  • Collaborate with Tennis Australia to drive planning, delivery, and implementation of National products and initiatives at a grassroots level.
  • Recognize playing market opportunities and pilot delivery solutions.
  • Analyze the delivery model of Tennis Victoria competitions and events to enhance participant experience and overall profitability.
  • Expand and diversify participation chances in Victoria, creating an outstanding player and spectator experience while establishing a clear player pathway.
  • Lead the development, delivery, and implementation of the competitive play State strategy.

About you

What you will bring to the role:

  • In-depth understanding of community sport and professional pathways, particularly in tennis.
  • Experience in strategy development and budget management.
  • Agility in thinking and expertise in change management.
  • Proficiency in program design, execution, and evaluation.
  • Alignment with Tennis values of Excellence, Humility, Collaboration, and Imagination.
  • Requirement to possess (or willingness to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
