  • Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.
  • Colac Area Health Foundation was founded in 2011 to support the provision of quality healthcare close to home. The Foundation, through the support of the community, helps to further develop the facilities, services and programs of Colac Area Health.
  • The aim of this volunteer position is to support the Colac Area Health Foundation in organising and executing successful fundraising events and providing administrative assistance. As a Foundation Assistant, your dedication and contribution will directly impact the Foundation's ability to enhance healthcare services and improve the wellbeing of the community.

DUTIES

  • Practice good hand hygiene and social distancing where possible
  • Complete the Volunteer Activity Record after each shift and provide this to the Volunteer Coordinator when the sheet is full.
  • Attend CAH Volunteer Mandatory Training within 3 months of commencement of your role, and every 3 years thereafter.
  • Fundraising Event Support:
  • Assist in promoting fundraising events such as festivals, charity walks, auctions, and community outreach programs.
  • Help with logistics, including venue setup, clean up, decorations, registration, and participant coordination.
  • Collaborate with the event team to ensure smooth execution and excellent participant experience.
  • Administrative Assistance:
  • Provide administrative support by managing eventrelated documentation, such as invitations, laminating certificates, client surveys.
  • Assist with data entry and collating thankyou letters or acknowledgments.
  • Tin Rattling and Donation Collection:
  • Engage in tin rattling activities, strategically placed in high-traffic areas, to encourage donations from community members.
  • Represent the Colac Area Health Foundation with professionalism, enthusiasm, and passion for the cause.
  • Safely handle and secure donation boxes, ensuring proper accountability and compliance with established guidelines.
  • Money Counting and Record-Keeping:
  • Assist in counting, sorting, and verifying donations collected during fundraising events or tin rattling campaigns.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity while handling sensitive financial information.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other volunteers, staff members, and event organisers to ensure effective teamwork and coordination.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and debriefings as required.
  • Share insights and contribute ideas for improving fundraising strategies and initiatives.
