Job Description:


OceanaGold are seeking a suitably experienced and motivated
Technical Services Manager to deliver specialist technical support to mine operations spanning mine engineering, business improvement, long-term mine planning, short-term mine planning as well as geology/geotechnical/hydrology and survey whilst ensuring adherence to the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and social performance.

A strong background in operational excellence, executing innovative solutions and continually improving underground technical performance will ensure your success in this challenging and highly rewarding senior site-based appointment.


This is a great opportunity to leverage from your extensive operational experience in underground international hard rock mining to lead technical mine improvement initiatives that will improve safety and maximize value and in doing so have a material impact on our flagship Didipio operations.


About the role

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a specialist team of Mining, Geotechnical, Geological, Hydrogeological and Survey professionals.
  • Advising and assisting the management team in the development of strategies, priorities and schedules, including annual budgets, monthly forecasts, shortterm mine planning and Life of Mine (LOM) planning.
  • Developing, maintaining and ensuring leading practices (operational and technical) are incorporated into studies, projects and operations.
  • Provide senior technical leadership, coaching and mentoring of professionals to develop individual and team capabilities.
  • Lead and/or actively contribute to underground mining improvement and innovation initiatives (including identification, development and implementation)
  • Provision of leadership and guidance that ensures the operation delivers to plan in respect of production, mine development, cost per ounce/cash flow while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Ensuring timely, accurate reporting to the General Manager Philippines and other internal and external parties.

Qualifications:

  • Behavior consistent with OceanaGold Corp. Values and the OceanaGold Way
  • Degree qualification in mining engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Sound technical and operational understanding of highly mechanized longhole open stoping with paste backfill mine operating practices and the impact of the mining operations on value chain outcomes.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in mining technical and operational roles
  • Demonstrated successful relationship and stakeholder engagement and project management capabilities as well as the ability to lead technical and/or operational teams to execute challenging projects autonomously.
  • Welldeveloped technical writing and presentation skills for capturing and communicating project improvement initiatives.
  • Indepth understanding of engineering and a track record of generating practical and innovative solutions to multifaceted technical challenges.
  • Competency with CAD and mine scheduling packages (preferably Deswik)
  • High levels of enthusiasm for the work with highperformance goals for self and team
  • Commercial acumen relevant to the role and strong demonstrated abilities to lead and work effectively within culturally diverse workforce settings
  • Qualified Person (QP) status for Mineral Reserve reporting under NI highly desirable
