Your opportunity

Thanks to an expanding project portfolio Mott MacDonald NSW has a new opportunity for an experienced Rail Operations Advisor to join our dynamic and growing team working on iconic infrastructural projects, locally, nationally, and globally.

You will work on large, complex rail projects by providing advice on areas such as: operational concept development and scenario planning; brownfield rail operating environment; strategic rail planning capability and rail network planning; operations and maintenance requirements.

We're looking for someone who has an appreciation for rail staff roles and rostering, and relevant experience of interface management with transport government entities and rail operators.

You'll also need to have an appreciation of track design and layout at a schematic level. Some knowledge of asset management principles in a rail operations context would be great, though not essential.

  • Your role responsibilities will include:
  • Provide operational and planning advice for significant rail network projects
  • Developing operation and maintenance strategic plans in engagement with various key stakeholders
  • Work on complex rail projects where you will need to plan and prioritise effectively to meet agreed deadlines
  • Act as a trusted advisor for our clients to develop, operate and maintain their rail projects
  • Act as the interface between transport planning, rail systems engineering and transport modelling
  • Support the team to find and win new opportunities
What can you bring to the team?

  • Qualifications in Engineering or other related discipline
  • Significant relevant operational and technical experience working on major rail system and transport infrastructure projects
  • Previous experience providing business solutions to clients on public transport projects
  • Clear and detailed understanding of the Australian rail industry and regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders across assurance, engineering and design
