Start your Heavy Vehicle career with an apprenticeship through HVTC Group & Host Employer, Shoalhaven City Council.

About this opportunity

You will complete a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with your Host Employer, Shoalhaven City Council.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

• Assist qualified tradespeople in the installation and maintenance of machinery
• Undertake equipment diagnostic testing and repairs
• Mechanical repairs and servicing on various types of plant and fleet with suitable tools and machinery supplied by Shoalhaven City Council.
• Assist in general mechanical duties that are within the limits of the skills, competence and ability of an apprentice

The successful applicant
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following capabilities and knowledge:

• Commitment to both on and off the job training
• Demonstrated interest and passion for the trade
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
• Ability to work in a team environment

Mandatory Requirements

• Current drivers licence (P1 or above)
• Ability to undertake a Medical including a drug/alcohol screening and audiometry testing
• WHS Construction Industry Induction (White Card (or willingness to obtain))
