This pivotal role reports to the Executive Manager to the CEO, with key responsibilities including:

  • developing and implementing an HR framework to ensure that workforce planning, people development, performance management, employee relations and HR systems and policies are contemporary and effective;
- developing strategies and programs that ensure a positive work, health and safety culture and practice for the benefit of employees and Council;
- championing organisational culture programs and people development within a business excellence framework;
- providing high level HR advice and support to the leadership team;
- developing and implementing a change management framework and organisational development program;
- managing, mentoring, developing, motivating and leading the People & Culture team.


Applications are invited from suitably qualified contemporary HR practitioners experienced in leading and developing the people and culture for a diverse organisation.

A strong and pragmatic outcomes focus, sound strategic thinking capabilities, effective change management skills and outstanding leadership and stakeholder relationship management abilities will also be required.

Local government experience is not a requirement.
