THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Technical Officer (Scientific) Casuals to join our casual pool and will be required to work across several TAFE NSW locations within the Sydney Region.

The Technical Officer (Scientific) role is responsible for supporting the delivery of education services through the maintenance of delivery locations and equipment, preparation and distribution of teaching resources and other related support and administrative functions to help deliver outstanding learning experiences to students.


THE ROLE

As part of the casual pool, you will be on call to provide ad hoc, urgent relief work for teaching sections.

You may be asked to work at any one of the below campus locations at short notice. Because of this requirement, you must be flexible, able to travel and have good availability.

ABOUT YOU

You are a self-starter who is willing to be hands on to support learning outcomes and delivery in the classroom.

You are excited to share your industry knowledge and experience with others and available for casual work.

ESSENTIAL REQUIERMENTS

  • Pathology/Biological Techniques Certificate or Higher certificate, Degree or equivalent qualification to Diploma Laboratory Technology
  • Pathology Testing, Food and Chemical.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working within a laboratory
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to secure and maintain laboratory, stores and apparatus ready for use.
  • Ability to liaise with teachers regarding class requirements
  • Ability to set up and maintain laboratories and provide direct class servicing at appropriate times.
  • Computer skills with ability to keep accurate records, maintain supplies and check for return of equipment.
