The role


Based in Sydney, the
NSW State Operations Managers role is responsible for leading the operations function of over 1000 team members and 60 agents to drive and implement the StarTrack Express and broader enterprise Strategy plan.

The primary focus is to lead the transformation of the network through the development and execution of local strategies and plans that support the achievement of the strategic goals and objectives.

On a daily basis this role will see you:

  • Effectively administer the risks, benefits and priorities of the Region in order to achieve strategic objectives and operational KPIs.
  • Take a safetyfirst approach to manage and eliminate operational risks
  • Collaborate effectively with peers across the StarTrack network nationally and the broader enterprise teams to ensure standardised processes are established, implemented and adhered to.
  • Execute high level business planning across a broad range of network initiatives to drive operations excellence and customer experience.
  • Lead change within a consultative framework that engages staff and their representative associations.
  • Build a culture of high performance and continuous improvement through the establishment of Lead Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
  • Lead operational and financial performance to grow profitable revenue, engaging with the commercial teams and to ensure that we adhere to our governance controls around fraud control, financial integrity and accounting procedures.
  • Identify work synergies and realise specific cost saving initiatives and network improvements/benefits in line with corporate plans and timelines

What experience will you have?

  • Experience in leading a large team across a 24/7 operational network within a complex industrial environment.
  • Experience in planning and delivering organisational change in the context of complex transformational change
  • Extensive operational experience in a production or operations environment
  • Track record of effective negotiation skills when managing industrial relations conflicts and negotiations with Unions and a diverse workforce
  • Proven ability to develop, communicate and implement strategies that drive efficiencies in fleet and facility operations, including short / medium / longterm execution plans, budget and service delivery models
