Facilities Operations is responsible for construction, operations and maintenance of 2.2 million square feet of facilities and 184 acres of grounds located throughout campus and off campus sites. This position reports to the Senior Architectural Designer. It provides landscape, hardscape, and interior architectural drafting services, archival and file management services of record documents and drawings, as well as provide as-built documentation. This position requires extensive working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel. Working hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Maintain the space utilization database and floor plans in IDN (Computerized Facilities Management Program).

Maintain the drawing and specification archives including printing, scanning, and properly filing drawings and documents.

Develop schematic designs, as-built drawings and 3D renderings using AutoCAD as well as hardscape and landscape design.

Ensure that applicable codes and regulations are followed.

Participate in campus-wide sustainability efforts.

Meet with various consultants related to engineering/drawing review and special projects.

Inspect campus locations to verify existing conditions, measurements and type of materials, etc.

Communicates effectively with Facilities personnel, campus community to incorporate information obtained into designs and best practice for projects.

Must be able to adhere and meet deadlines set.

Emergency preparedness and support as directed. Additional duties as assigned.

AS degree in Architectural drafting and/or design, or equivalent work experience and a portfolio of work.

State of Florida driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record defined by Florida Tech's insurance company.

Skills: Must be proficient in AutoCAD and other pertinent design software.
Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel and Project.
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
Knowledge of IDN (Computerized Facilities Management Program) preferred.
Must be detailed oriented.

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech's 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.

The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment.
