This new role will report directly to our Group General Counsel & Company Secretary and will support the Corporate Counsel at the Darra Head Office.

You will enjoy being "hands on" in a fast-paced commercial environment which supports manufacturing operations Australia wide.

About the role:

  • In this role you will:
  • Monitor the legal mailbox, responding to correspondence as required
  • Provide effective legal and administrative support to the legal team
  • Assist the legal team with tasks related to corporate governance, legislative reform and legal compliance
  • Develop and improve existing legal processes and systems
  • Update precedent legal documents to reflect changes in laws and commercial best practice
  • Assist with ethics and compliance programs including ongoing work in relation to Modern Slavery commitments
  • Research and analyse legal issues, including reviewing, tracking, and monitoring legislation that impacts the company's products and/or processes
  • Work collaboratively as part of the legal team by promoting consistency, rigour and knowledge
  • Maintain confidential and privileged information in an appropriate manner

About you:

  • To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
  • Certificate in legal services or equivalent, or currently engaging in tertiary legal studies
  • Previous experience as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant
  • A thorough understanding of legal language and principles and research methods
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and file management skills
  • Effective time management skills and a proven ability to meet moving deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team and autonomously when required
