We are seeking a passionate Youth and Young Adults Ministry Worker to join our team at Quakers Hill Uniting Church.

You will be responsible for engaging with young people (high school to young adults) and growing strong multicultural youth and young adult ministries.


Responsibilities
You will be involved in supporting the current ministry team, resourcing and coordinating:

  • The multiple youth & young adult projects at QHUC with the view to grow them into strong regional ministries
  • Explore opportunities to establish and grow a Uniting Church connection to young people in the northwest Sydney region (centred on Quakers Hill and the surrounds). This includes young people studying and working in the local area.
  • Explore ways to connect to other local organisations & Uniting Church congregations and groups in the north western Sydney area.

Requirements:

  • A committed Christian with a personal faith in Jesus Christ
  • A passion for sharing the gospel with others
  • A willingness to make QHUC their church home
  • Enthusiasm and a passion for helping young people
  • Experience in youth and young adults' ministries within a Christian church context
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • Driver's Licence
  • Working with Children's Check (WWCC) and Criminal Record Check
  • The right to work in Australia

Nice to have:

  • Possessing or working towards a formal qualification in Theology, Christian ministry, youth work, social work or education.
  • Ability to engage across social media platforms
  • Demonstrates an ability to network, develop relationships and build community
  • Experience using music, drama or art in ministry contexts

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 30 per week

Schedule:

  • Flexible hours
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • QUAKERS HILL, NSW 2763: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Youth work (preferred)
