Intake Manager - Full Time

The position is responsible for leading and managing the intake department to provide clinical and operational patient flow direction to the facility.

The Intake Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing access and timely referral processing, mental health assessment allocation, patient flow, business continuity and responding to external referrer demands. They will escalate as required to the Director of Clinical Services. They will assist and support to enable smooth patient flow by facilitating timely patient admission.

The position requires a commitment to promoting The Victoria Clinic and building professional relationships with medical staff and other services, to promote growth

The Intake Manager will be an integral member of The Victoria Clinic Management Team by being responsible and coordinating all Intake requirements for the Mental Health Units.

The new Victoria Clinic is currently a 115 patient-bed private psychiatric facility located on Malvern Road in Prahran.

This architecturally-designed, purpose-built mental health facility specialises in the provision of high quality inpatient mental health services.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health (or working towards)
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Advanced computer skills / digital healthcare system experience

· Establish and maintain professional relationships with all accredited VMOs.

· Establish relationships with external referrers eg. GPs, CATT, Emergency Departments, CMHS, Mental Health agencies.

· Develop rapport with patients and their carers.

Participate as a member of the hospital team by demonstrating teamwork, professionalism, commitment and achievement.
