Key Objective:

To co-ordinate, support, monitor and evaluate all aspects of the venues day to day operation in accordance with the company's business objectives and values.


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • To ensure clear and effective communication across all departments.
  • To ensure the provision of services across all departments are helpful, friendly, efficient and customer focused at all times whilst in compliance with the liquor act.
  • To consistently maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for both patrons and employees.

Compliance with liquor licensing laws

  • Ensure all staff are compliant with the liquor licensing laws in the absence of the Director.

Liaison with Director:

  • Act as a key advisor to the Director.
  • Provide the Director with accurate and timely information regarding staffing, stock, maintenance etc. when and where required.
  • Attend operations meetings with the Director when and where required.

Management of staff

  • Formulate and implement practices and procedures which attract, develop, and retain the highest caliber of staff. Utilize their time and skills efficiently and allow for initiative and effective teamwork.
  • Ensure all staff are adequately and appropriately trained continuously throughout their employment.
  • Oversee the recruitment of staff.
  • Coordinate and monitor an effective and efficient staff roster with respects to events and bookings.
  • Oversee staff behaviour while on shift, ensure it aligns with the company's values and expectations. Liaise with Director of any issues in the staff department.

Strategizing

  • Plan and implement strategies to stimulate income in liaison with the Director. This being menu design and creation, specials, events, and any other ideas to boost venue revenue/attraction.

Stock

  • Complete monthly stock taking.
  • Oversee and maintain appropriate stock levels for all bar requirements in the absence or at the request of the Director.
  • Ordering of stock as required in the absence or at the request of the Director.
  • Maintain open line of contact with the director regarding all stock levels.

Cash Handling

  • Ensure the safe and secure handling of money across all operational areas.

Functions and Bookings

  • Ensure functions are coordinated and held in accordance with high industry standards.
  • Liaise with function patrons during their event, delegate work, ensure all requests and minimum spends are met, deposits are refunded and provide the best possible experience for the patrons.
  • Take bookings in person and over the phone. Manage bookings, ensuring requests are met and any discounts are applied.
  • Ensure a high standard of organization for both bookings and functions.

Patron Experience

  • Ensure every patron experience is in line with the company's values.
  • Handle complaints in a timely manner, professionally and calmly ensuring a happy resolution for the patron.
  • Handle incident register, ensure any incidents are handled appropriately and are reported immediately and in full detail in the absence or at the request of the Director.
  • Handle complaints calmy and professionally and mitigate issues on the spot to ensure happy resolution.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

  • Liaise with the Director on any necessary maintenance needs throughout the venue.
  • Ensure Opening, Closing and Cleaning rosters are completed efficiently.

Communication with Head Chef

  • Ensure there is always an open line of communication between the head chef and management. E.g. Information sharing of events etc.
  • Actively Liaise with kitchen staff to ensure food continuity is practiced at high industry standards and in a timely matter.

General

  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, commitment, and fairness in all aspects of the above responsibilities.
  • Form and maintain positive connections with staff and patrons.

Salary:
From $68,000.00 per year
