What's the job?
Reporting to the Library Support Coordinator, Library Technicians at Torrens University provide an information service to students and staff.
Library Technicians work collaboratively online with Discipline Librarians and other Library Technicians in other Australian cities and Auckland.
Day-to-day accountabilities:
- Assisting users with locating and accessing library resources, including books, journals, electronic resources, and multimedia materials.
- Providing technical support to library users, including assistance with computers, software, and other technologies.
- Provide individualised and cohort-based academic coaching to student, including developing information literacy products and services, assessment research as well as learning strategies in person, in Chat or visa digital products such as videos and Study guide
- Collaborating with the team to develop and implement library policies, procedures, and services.
- Participating in library outreach and promotion efforts, including designing displays and creating promotional materials.

The vacancy is casual - based in our Leura Campus in the Blue Mountains - 3/4 days a week.
Who you are- Minimum completion of a diploma in library studies with some relevant work experience and/or eligibility for Library Technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association- Experience in libraries within a higher education college or university.
