The Opportunity:


At Visy Glama, part of Visy Specialties, we offer premium branded cardboard packaging and Point of Sale displays to small, medium, and large businesses.

Based at our Visy Glama site in Kilsyth and reporting to the Lead Designer, you will be responsible for creating CAD drawings from concept to manufacture based on design briefs and ensure the design are fit for manufacturing.


Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Interpret incoming Design briefs and provide a range of innovative packaging solutions for a diverse customer base
  • Create detailed product specifications, technical drawings, and prototypes based on job briefs within the agreed turnaround time
  • Designers will communicate with Sales and Production teams to create cost effective designs with mínimal material wastage
  • Ensure that the designs should enhance all parts of the manufacturing chain that include but are not limited to Corrugating, Converting and Distribution
  • Work closely with crossfunctional teams, to ensure designs are technically feasible and meet quality standards

What you will bring to the team:

  • Tertiary qualified in Industrial Design, Graphic Design or similar.
  • Experience using design softwares like AutoCAD, Adobe illustrator or Solidworks (preferably Artios CAD)
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Strong ability to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Previous exposure to packaging manufacturing or other industrial designs (Highly Preferrable)
