Positions in Nuclear Stewardship
The ANU is helping to build Australia's capacity for the responsible use of nuclear science and technologies.

As Australia's only national university, the ANU commits to deepening its world-class research and education in fields essential for responsible use and governance of nuclear technology.

In order to lift Australia's scientific, technical, regulatory, and industry capacities in nuclear and radiation science and technology, and to strengthen Australia's role in international frameworks of technical cooperation, non-proliferation, nuclear security and safety, the ANU seeks to appoint multiple academic positions across several Colleges in order to coordinate all aspects of nuclear stewardship within a University-wide centre.

Each of the three Colleges, College of Asia and the Pacific, College of Engineering, Computer Science and Cybernetics and College of Science aim to appoint at least one appointment under this Nuclear Stewardship.

ANU College of Asia and the Pacific aims to appoint tenure track appointment in one or more of the following fields.

Fields of interest:

  • Nuclear governance capabilities in Asia and the Pacific (including First Nations' capabilities)
  • Australian participation in nuclear nonproliferation
  • Nuclear technology regulation (including regulatory agency capacity and stewardship)
The appointment will join the broader ANU community focussed on responsible nuclear stewardship.

The appointee will contribute at least 25% of their time to teaching, and be expected to supervise post-graduate research student projects.
