Job description:


Are you a Mechanical fitter looking for a permanent-full-time role that has guaranteed long-term, secure work, and opportunity for career growth? If so, this role is for you.

The primary function of these mechanical fitter roles is to maintain Queensland's New Generation Rolling Stock (QNGR) andwill see you involved in both corrective and preventative maintenance as well as modification activities across the whole fleet of 75 trains.

This is the largest project in rail Across QLD and has secure work within this project for over 20 years to come.

This role will see you working on a swing roster in 10-12-hour shifts (overtime and penalties paid), providing a lifestyle balance and opportunity to maximise earnings.

Interviews will take place ASAP as pre-employment assessments will need to be completed prior to commencement. We will only consider Mechanical Fitters that are flexible and can do the rotating shifts.

Key Responsibilities for Mechanical Fitters in these Roles Includes:

  • Perform fault diagnosis, identification, and rectification on the electrical and mechanical systems of the train.
  • Carry out routine examinations according to the Technical Maintenance Plan.
  • Support in service faults with technical advice to support the Depot Team Leader as required and provide a high level of focus to ensure that fleet performance and reliability targets are achieved and improved.
  • Perform technical modifications as necessary
  • Perform post work testing and validation as necessary

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required Includes:

  • Electrical/Mechanical trade qualification.
  • Relevant Industry licences/tickets (can provide training)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good faultfinding skills and the ability to 'own a problem'.
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of rolling stock is preferable but not essential.
These are permanent roles based at the purpose-built Wulkuraka Maintenance Facility. With this global leader there will be plenty of scope for advancement. The pay and conditions will be as per their current Enterprise Agreement.
