The Department for Environment and Water (DEW), Eyre and Far West Region has an exciting opportunity available for a highly motivated, enthusiastic person willing to work collaboratively within a team of Rangers, Marine Co-ordinators and other District and Regional colleagues.

The Senior Ranger role has a marine focus, and is responsible for the development and implementation of a range of operational programs and projects to ensure the effective management of marine parks and marine programs within the Eyre District and at times the Far West District.

Core responsibilities include assist in developing and implementing marine ecosystem and wildlife conservation programs, plan and undertake marine compliance operations, engaging with the community and school groups, maintenance of marine park assets, assist in scientific monitoring programs including citizen science programs, assist with marine and terrestrial park presentation and interpretation, and participating in marine mammal incidents and NPWS wildlife rescue.

The role also builds effective and positive working relationships with key partners, including marine Commercial Tour Operators, Aboriginal communities, local government and Landscapes Board staff, the marine science community and representatives from conservation and volunteer groups.
