Your Role:

Join the Navy as an electrician ensuring ships are always in top working condition by maintaining electrical power, generation, and distribution systems. Whether you're already a skilled tradesperson, currently an apprentice, or have no prior experience, you'll start getting paid from day one.

As an Electrical Fitter (known as Marine Technician – Electrical in the Navy), you'll receive comprehensive on-the-job trade training to acquire all necessary skills. You'll also earn a Certificate III in Engineering – Electrical Fitting and have opportunities to pursue further qualifications, potentially up to a Diploma level. If you already hold relevant qualifications, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning.

Submariner Role:

If you choose to specialize as an Electrical Fitter Submariner, you'll be part of an exclusive and stable workforce. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and operating submarine electrical systems, hydraulic systems, refrigeration systems, as well as power generation, storage, and distribution systems.

Salary:

After completing your initial military and employment training, you can expect a starting salary of $75,451 for surface fleet roles and $94,054 for submariner positions.
