About the role


The Stormwater & Compliance Education Officer is responsible for developing and delivering a program to support the priorities of the Parramatta River Masterplan which relate to improving waterway health, reducing stormwater runoff, and improving overflows and the overall PRCG vison and mission for the Parramatta River.

This role will be part of the PRCG secretariat team, which will be hosted by Inner West Council between The position is supervised by the PRCG Coordinator and will work closely with the Riverkeeper and Communications Officer and to deliver the overarching PRCG Strategic Plan.

The PRCG secretariat is a small, dynamic team and it is envisaged that team members will all "chip in" to assist with major projects such as full group meetings, events and team administration.

Please note that occasionally, given the community focus of the group, it may occasionally be necessary to work evenings or on weekends.

Remuneration
$92, $104, Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental), Environmental Science or another relevant field of study and substantial relevant training and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the operation, maintenance and asset management requirements of Water Sensitive Urban Design assets including, but not limited to, onsite stormwater detention systems (OSDs), rainwater tanks (RWTs) and stormwater quality improvement devices (SQIDs)
  • Substantial, demonstrated experience working as a stormwater engineer, environmental engineer, development planner, or in natural resource management, community engagement and behaviour change programs or related roles
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting WSUD design and construction documentation including Works as Executed and Standard Plan Drawings
