The Opportunity:

  • Diversity & Capability Specialist 4 days a week.

Join our high performing and collaborative People & Culture team where you will make a tangible difference and positive impact in driving key strategic Diversity and inclusion initiatives nationwide and contribute innovative thinking and a continuous improvement approach to all aspects of HR service delivery.

Reporting to the Head of Learning & Capability, you will also work closely with Urbis' Diversity and Inclusion Board, our Reconciliation Action Plan Committees (both national and regional) to deliver on our objective to being regarded as an Employer of Choice.


You will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of organisational wide strategies to advance diversity and inclusion across Urbis nationally and develop / monitor plans to meet targets and objectives
  • Lead research projects into current trends emerging from data and drawing on best practice, nationally and internationally to identify approaches and systems which best support the business and Company Plan
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies and tools for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of diversity and inclusion initiatives and other activities to ensure that quality data is available to report on outcomes of programs and benchmark activities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of health and safety, and wellbeing programs across the company
  • Work with the P&C team to deliver a set of planned people initiatives that enhance employee performance, engagement, retention and productivity.

About You:

  • A working knowledge of employment practices and legislation is essential
  • Minimum 8 years' work experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary and/or post graduate qualification in Business or Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of HR principles and practices is preferred
  • Exposure in Influencing outcomes through proactive, informed and decisive communication.
  • Ability to show initiative and bring a logical and commonsense approach to problem solving.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work demands and changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively deliver training to all levels of staff.
  • Good working knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Have experience in proactively coaching and advising leaders on a wide range of people matters, informed by Company and Business Unit objectives, and commercial and legal considerations
