The Youthlink Skills4Life team provides a range of therapeutic and recreation supports and programs for children and young people aged 8-30 who have an intellectual, emotional, psychiatric, physical, sensory disability or like impairment.

In this position you will work closely with our clinical, disability support and recreation teams, plus working with children, young people and families/carers, providing support to young people participating in activities, therapy and tasks, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, self-direction and independence in the absence of direct supervision.

Youthlink is The Salvation Army's Specialist Youth Services provider in Sydney's Greater West.

TSA Youthlink Skills4Life Specialist Youth Disability Services based in Blacktown, is hiring casual Skills4Life Disability Support Workers to provide support to work in any of our various programs.

Morning, afternoon and weekend shifts available on a rotating roster.

There is one casual position available, located in Blacktown NSW.

You will successfully

  • Be responsible for creating and facilitating programs to care for the needs and engage our clients aged 825 and help achieve their specific goals
  • Have the ability to stay focused in a sometimes high pressure environment
  • Participate in a variety of programs including physical activities in the outdoors such as canoeing, bush walking, high ropes and more
  • Support program participation
  • Support client interaction
  • Ensure operational measures are met
You will have

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability
  • Experience working with young people with a disability
  • High level of customer service and personal presentation.
  • Welldeveloped communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment and stay focused
  • Current NSW Class C Driver's License (desired ability to drive manual)
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screen Check
  • Valid NSW Working With Children's Check
