The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Provisional Fellows (Anaesthetics) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide anaesthetic care for patients undergoing anaesthetics or sedation
  • Establish anaesthetic management plans for patients in consultation with consultants
  • Provide preoperative assessment of surgical patients which may involve consultation with surgeons and physicians
  • Provide consultative services to hospital medical staff concerning anaesthetic and perioperative problems
  • Provide urgent consultation and assistance in resuscitation of critically ill patients, for those about to undergo emergency surgery
About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • To be a Registered trainee with the ANZCA and be eligible to commence training as a Provisional Fellow with completion of all advanced training requirements
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 1
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

  • Temporary full time (twelve positions, 12 months)
  • Base salary ranging from $ $ per annum
About Us

The Department of Anaesthetics provides anaesthetic and sedation services at the three campuses of the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, namely Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital, and Varsity Lakes Day Hospital.

The Anaesthetic Department consists of 80 specialists and 60 trainees provides a service across 3 hospitals covering around 30 operating theatres, 3 interventional radiology/hybrid suites, and a variety of other procedural rooms such as MRI, endoscopy, and interventional cardiology.
