Belonging to the broader Commercial team, the Governance team plays a pivotal role in supporting the business by ensuring the College's governance processes provide our board directors, staff and offshore partners with accurate and relevant information they require to make informed decisions.

We play an oversight role, undertaking audits and ensuring processes are in place to monitor actions, policies and decisions, and that the business operations are compliant with corporate and education regulatory bodies, legislation and other frameworks.

About the role


Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Associate Director Governance and Risk is responsible for developing and maintaining a quality framework which guides regulatory compliance and best practice, manages academic regulatory risk and informs the development of policy and processes.


You will promote governance across the College, providing advice and guidance on governance issues and championing adoption of best practice.

The role is also responsible for implementing the departments risk management framework to enable a consistent and robust governance approach across the College.

The role will also support the business development function by monitoring government policy in relation to sector developments, completing due diligence on new business opportunities on and offshore, maintaining necessary registrations to support program delivery and providing advice on accreditation of new products

About You

  • Degree qualification in one or more disciplines, majoring in either Arts, Business, Law, Statistics or Economics OR;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, governance, or compliance roles within a regulated industry
  • Exceptional leadership experience to guide a small highperforming team
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing quality frameworks
  • Specialist knowledge Higher Education Standards Framework and ESOS Act and National Code
  • Previous experience in Higher Education; experience in corporate governance desired
  • Substantial senior level experience in managing the development and implementation of Risk Management frameworks and strategies
  • Higher Education regulatory reporting, including TEQSA, ASQA, PIR, HITS, CRICOS
  • Strong ability to meet audit processes and compliance protocols
