3 month contract**An exciting opportunity to work for a Local Government Authority in a supportive environment based in the Northern Suburbs. The role will report to the Manager, Community Engagement and will undertake communications activities on ongoing projects.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop communications and engagement plans
  • Work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to successfully implement the approved communications and engagement plans in line with internal and external standards and best practice.
  • Provide communication representation as required, including facetoface consultation with the community
  • Coordinate external contractors to design, print, install and distribute project communications
  • Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Working closely with the Senior Communication Advisor
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working within community engagement & communications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high level stakeholder engagement
  • Must have communications experience
  • Experience managing community concerns/ issues
  • Previous experience working in Local Government advantageous
  • Must be fully vaccinated for this position
  • Must be willing to obtain a police check for the position
