Develops, writes and produces a range of multimedia content, with a focus on video assets, to create user-centric experiences for prospective students.

Works end-to-end across the content ideation, development, production and publishing processes under the direction of the Manager, Social Media & Content.

Manages small to medium multimedia and video content projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, to budget and to a high standard.

Supports the maintenance of Deakin's asset management system, including maintaining video production guidelines and provides multimedia and video production advice to Stakeholders as required.

Collaborates with a wide variety of marketing stakeholders across Marketing & Recruitment Division and the wider University to ensure multimedia and video content remains up-to-date and meets the changing needs of the University.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and prioritises work and critical activities appropriately and recognises barriers to achieving outcomes, finds effective ways to deal with them and evaluates progress
  • Seek feedback from clients regarding their satisfaction and perspective with products or services received, respond to feedback with openness and transparency and seek to identify ways to better service the customer
  • Provide ethical advice to clients that address underlying issues, promoting valueadding insights and recommendations
  • Build new and productive relationships with a diverse range of potential students, stakeholders or key and influential individuals both inside and outside the University
  • Develop and implement practical, accessible solutions based on stakeholder needs
  • Strive for excellence and consult regularly with clients to clarify who requires the information, the purpose for which it is required, criteria for success and where and when advice and recommendation is required
  • Communicate with confidence using examples and the most appropriate influencing technique for a given situation to increase understanding and support

To be successful, you'll have:

  • A Degree in Multimedia, film, television, animation production, digital media, journalism, communications, marketing, advertising or other related areas with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. (Media, advertising)
  • Experience in media, advertising, creative or design agency, with a focus on production of multimedia or video content for a range digital channels
  • Experience working as a video or multimedia Producer in a large organisation or digital agency
  • Significant experience in video production and video editing, producing web and social media content or repurposing existing content to specifically suit digital channels
  • Ability to understand and clearly communicate or transform specialist knowledge or technical information into engaging and inspiring multimedia or video content suitable for a range of audiences
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and highquality content.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with crossfunctional teams
  • Demonstrated experience working with external suppliers or contractors
  • Working knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Suite, SEO and content management systems including Wordpress
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements related to web communication, such as accessibility standards, copyright permissions and SPAM legislation
