We have a fantastic opportunity for an Exercise Physiologist to join our team at the oncology center in Joondalup, WA. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will directly report to the Centre Leader and play a key role in coordinating and delivering the Exercise Medicine Service on a daily basis. Your main focus will be guiding and supporting individuals undergoing cancer treatment with a prescribed exercise program.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing personalized exercise programs for GenesisCare patients to help them stay active during and after treatment.
  • Demonstrating empathy and understanding towards the benefits and challenges of exercise during and post-cancer treatment.
  • Providing timely follow-up information to patients interested in exercise, addressing their queries and easing any concerns.
  • Crafting and implementing tailored exercise plans and transition strategies based on patients' medical backgrounds and personal characteristics.
  • Maintaining detailed records and ensuring effective communication with relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Oversight of the exercise clinic's physical environment.

We are seeking candidates who possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology with ESSA Accreditation
  • CPR & Current First Aid certification
  • Prior experience in exercise oncology (preferred)
  • Proven expertise in devising suitable exercise programs for individuals with diverse physical abilities.
  • A genuine dedication to patient care and the duties associated with the position.
  • Capability to work autonomously and without supervision.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in communicating with and reporting to healthcare professionals (preferred).
  • Understanding of behavior change principles and the ability to apply them to encourage exercise participation (preferred).
