Your Opportunity
As the Test Lead, Educational Planning System (EPS) project, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the testing component and associated functional training activities for the EPS. This will include the development of test strategies and plans, creation and distribution of test scenarios and/or test cases/scripts, pilot and final testing, as well as reporting of any testing issues through registers and actions.
  • Leading, developing, documenting and implementing ICT system quality assurance procedures in accordance with TAFE Queensland standards, and ensure that effective corporate governance frameworks are utilised.
  • Leading, guiding and monitoring the analysis, design, implementation and execution of the test cases, test procedures and test suites.
  • Leading and working with TAFE Queensland operational SMEs and Change Champions to define acceptance criteria based on the business objectives, functional requirements and service level requirements.
This position reports to the Project Manager, Educational Planning System.
This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to March 2024 unless otherwise determined.

The team is primarily based at Mount Gravatt however, it can be negotiated to work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work independently when required to achieve agreed project outcomes.
  • Develop and implement, in consultation with stakeholders, quality management and testing procedures to ensure a high quality outcome for the project while adhering to workplace methodologies and documentation procedures.
  • Adhere to project governance frameworks, including the updating and maintaining of key project logs and registers (e.g. risk, product & quality, decision registers) and taking ownership of the development of key project products/artefacts through varying stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and prepare reports, briefing materials, testing material and correspondence for senior management and other business units, including management of testing issues, resolution and outcomes.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training and information sessions to internal and external customers in relation to the EPS implementation.
  • Schedule tests for execution, monitoring, measuring, controlling and reporting on the test progress of the product quality status and the test results.
  • Responsible for coordinating and managing testing resource requirements, including organising and guiding temporary testing staff as required within the operation of projects and other minor works.
  • Coordinate and/or participating in all technical testing as well as user acceptance testing (UAT) activities, including functional and nonfunctional requirements, and regression testing for each release cycle.
  • Maintaining and being accountable for the logging, reporting and management of testing issues and system defects, including the storing and archiving of test results and development of test reports at the completion of each testing cycle.
  • Working closely with the EPS Subject Matter Experts and other internal stakeholders to understand the requirements of the outward facing platform and interfaces.
  • Continuously promote new ways of improving efficiency by reducing cost and enhancing outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain productive and influential business relationships within TAFE Queensland, other government agencies and key external stakeholders and partners.
  • Effectively communicate, consult, negotiate and advocate persuasively to achieve desired outcomes on ICT systems quality assurance and facilitate meetings and briefings as required.
  • Actively contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and performance management within the project team.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Service and TAFE Queensland values.
