The role:
We currently have a great opportunity for a proactive, experienced and passionate Despatch Manager to support, empower and manage our Reservoir Despatch team.
You enjoy being hands on, thrive under pressure, and work with your team to find solutions to the day to day challenges, whilst ensuring safety and customer service is never compromised.
To be successful you will have recent Supply Chain/Logistics management experience in a manufacturing environment and be up to date with the COR and Fatigue laws.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you describe yourself as a dynamic leader who builds strong relationships internally and externally to ensure the success of the greater team.
You are analytical, patient and will embrace the manual despatch systems looking to improve where you can, to drive efficiency, compliance, quality and control costs against the set budget to maximise business profitability.
Your key areas you will be responsible for will be but not limited to:- Initiate and drive a safe workplace including following all safety policies and regulations
- Management and coordinate Despatch and Contractors to achieve distribution KPI's for the site (Safety/DIFOT/Quality/Sales/Volume/Freight Utilisation)
- Actively develop and upskill your team including identifying any cross training or development opportunities
- Management of stock and assets including maintenance
- Pallet control management and other assets [pallet tops]
- Managing a set budget and management of all associated costs
- Develop improvement processes and ensure established processes are maintained to meet compliance and quality targets
- Ensure compliance and legislation around chain of responsibility is adhered to
What you will bring to the team:
- 3-5 years' minimum experience in a leadership role within Supply Chain/Logistics role (preferably within the FMCG, Manufacturing or Processing industries)
- Experience across all despatch functions including allocating, scheduling, goods receipting, stock management, logistics management with 3PL including COR and Fatigue Management
- Good with technology and proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP (advantageous)
- Flexible and adaptable to work hours outside of your set times to ensure the best outcome when required
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and able to think on your feet
- High communications skills to manage both internal and external relationships to drive DIFOT outcomes for our customers
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a focus on safety, customer service and innovation
- Good with reporting to increase and sustain the business's profitability
- A fun, hands on leader, who is selfmotivated with energy, passion and a positive mindset
- Excellent work ethic and dedicated to succeed to get the job done
- Have a current drivers licence.
