About the position

We are in need of a Maintenance Supervisor to join the team at our Thiess Western Region Maintenance hub in Hazelmere. This hub serves to facilitate the maintenance and refurbishment of a range of Mining Equipment and Components for Thiess and its subsidiary internal Asset refurbishment needs, as well as external key Tier 1 mining clients.

With a significant number of machine refurbishments on the horizon, including major component replacements for a fleet of CAT 793F's, the Maintenance Supervisor will have a crucial role in leading our workshop team to ensure efficient maintenance operations. Responsibilities include overseeing workshop activities, emphasizing safety, and achieving production and cost objectives. You will lead a diverse team of tradespeople, promoting a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous enhancement.

This role also presents opportunities to advance your career in various maintenance and asset management areas within the Thiess organization.

Your duties will involve:

  • Guiding, coaching, and nurturing team members by establishing clear expectations, monitoring performance, and offering guidance
  • Supervising and carrying out maintenance tasks using effective equipment servicing strategies to meet service time goals and scheduling compliance rates
  • Ensuring tasks are completed within set budget and resource limits
  • Cultivating and fortifying crucial internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Ensuring all equipment maintenance and repairs align with OEM specifications, company policies, and Project requirements

Qualifications needed:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Considerable post-trade or relevant mobile maintenance experience in a mining setting or component rebuild workshop
  • Prior experience in leadership/supervisory roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Familiarity with maintenance planning and condition monitoring
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
