The International Spine Centre (TISC) is seeking a motivated medical practitioner to undertake a two-year, full time, fellowship to train in spinal surgery. The key outcomes of this fellowship are focused on surgical skills acquisition under supervision and research project participation.

Skills & Experience

Fellows will:
- conduct clinical examinations and obtain clinical histories to reach diagnosis and formulate a spinal management plan;
- practice in the sub-specialty of spinal medicine;
- gain knowledge & clinical expertise;
- assist and engage in complex spinal surgery and surgical instrumentation under supervision;
- monitor patients' progress and responses to surgery or other treatment plans;
- obtain exposure to emerging contemporary surgical techniques;
- order diagnostic imaging tests and interpret results to form a diagnosis and treatment plan;
- proactively engage in patient education leading to informed patient choices;
- undertake spinal research with contribution to study & project design under guidance;
- prepare research papers for publication and presentation; and
- participate in clinical meetings and education sessions.
- take a patient-centric approach to delivering healthcare within the organisation's values;
- demonstrate the ability to positively contribute to the culture of the organisation;
- possess strong networking and relationship building skills;
- have commercial and financial awareness;
- be currently undertaking research projects; and
- demonstrate the capability to present research outcomes.
- have a Bachelor of Medicine;
- have AHPRA registration to practice as a medical practitioner in South Australia;
- possess a range of medical professional skills, medical education, and relevant training;
- have FRACS or equivalent international specialty board recognition in orthopaedic surgery;
- have at least 18 months' experience in, and understanding of, the Australian healthcare system; and
- possess transferrable skills acquired through life and work experience as well as qualifications and training.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term

Contract length: 24 months

Salary:
Up to $140,000.00 per year
